  This review is in regards to the shelter off truman rd. in Independence, MO. First off they expect each adult to do "chores" like your a child again. They expected my husband to do his "chore" after getting off work after 9:00 PM working a 13 hour day and not getting in till after 9:30PM . On top of this him and I were both sick and they still expected us to do our "chores". I don't mind helping out but there should be exceptions when someone is sick and strolling in the door late at night after getting off work. They are unreasonable and could care less. Also when we first entered our room it was so hot I thought I was in a dessert. The neighbor next to us was screaming, yelling, cussing at her two children late at night. To top things off not being in the room for more than 2 minutes we seen a roach on the wall by one of the beds. There floors are dirty and the bathrooms have no toilet paper up keep. They treat you like you are a prisoner and you are being punished for being homeless. I would rather pitch a tent then stay in a place like this.

  The Salvation is known for being the best at what they do. My grandmother always reminded me to always donate what you can to he Salvation Army... Even if it's just change to the bell ringers. They do soooo much for our community. I've needed their assistance in the past myself.

  Great Church, I have been going here for about 3 years. My wife and I feel like we found a family at this church. they have reached out to us in many ways.
